Doula Services

I have been assisting expecting families in the New York Metro Area for over 21 yrs.

I provide a calm and supportive environment for a positive birth experience. I incorporate my health coaching, prenatal yoga and bodywork skills. I am also experienced with VBAC and twin births and mindful cesareans.

Before the Birth - Prenatal

We meet ahead of time to explore your goals, hopes and desires as well as address any concerns, or fears that you may have about labor and delivery. We will go over your birth plan and prepare ahead of time with exercises to support your baby into an ideal birth ready position. I will help you understand what to expect.

During Labor

I will join you when you feel the need for extra support and stay with you until after your baby is born. As you labor, I remain close by, supporting you physically and emotionally, answering questions, offering encouragement and comfort. I may use relaxation techniques, massage, body positions, hot or cold packs, baths or showers, relaxed breathing and attention focusing techniques to help you. I will support and reassure your partner, supporting them in assisting you with comfort measures.

After The Birth – Postpartum

I will help you through the postpartum procedures and with early breastfeeding. Over the next few days, I will keep in touch with you to see how you are doing. I will meet with you for a final postpartum meeting within two weeks after birth although some families want a meeting sooner. After our postpartum meeting, if you need more help, I can assist you as a postpartum doula for a more extended period of time.

“Chantal was such a key part of my postpartum recovery and came to our family when I needed her most. Chantal came into our home a warm, understanding and open person to lean on in the early days and months of motherhood when I was sleep deprived and unsure of my new role as a mom. It was so helpful to ask her a million questions and get feedback, whether it was about getting nutrients into my diet, breastfeeding positions, how the baby was doing with sleep and activities to do with him. She really was able to observe and help my son and I get into a good daily rhythm. In my time with her she made me feel that I was capable and coming along just wonderfully as a new mom. I looked forward to our visits and her calm demeanor, especially after some sleepless nights. I truly valued my time with Chantal and would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to use a postpartum doula- it was a game changer.” - Mary Madden

Chantal gave my partner and I the tools and guidance we needed to get through labor. She showed my partner how to help and how to push on my back. She helped me achieve my goal of staying at home for as long as possible. Chantal is non judgmental and as flexible as water. She was a teacher, a guide, a friend, an advocate at the hospital. And not dogmatic in the least. A true sage. Thank you Chantal,
