Nervous-system-informed coaching, from birth through menopause
I'm Chantal Traub, NBC‑HWC, WHC, CD(DONA), LCCE — a board‑certified health & wellness coach, women's health coach, menopause coach, childbirth educator, birth doula, and speaker.
For more than 20 years, I've supported women through some of life's biggest transitions, from pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to perimenopause, menopause, and midlife.
The nervous system matters — it shapes how we experience stress, sleep, pain, connection, energy, and change.
From birth to midlife
My work began with birth. After studying yoga in Los Angeles, I began teaching prenatal yoga in New York City. When some of my students invited me to their births, I discovered a part of myself I hadn't expected, and decided to train as a birth doula.
I've supported families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum since 2003, becoming a certified childbirth educator (LCCE) along the way. Over 850 births, I became fascinated by what actually helps someone feel more at ease in their own body. That led me to develop Pushing Power, my approach to preparing women for the second stage of labor, how position, movement, breath, the pelvic floor, and the baby's position all work together. I now teach it through online and in-person workshops and an on-demand course.
That same curiosity eventually led me into another major transition in women's lives: midlife. My own experience made me curious about what happens when sleep, energy, stress, and hormones all begin to shift, and why strategies that once worked suddenly don't. That took me deeper into menopause, brain health, and the nervous system.
Today, I help women navigate perimenopause, menopause, and midlife with a nervous‑system‑informed, practical approach.
I work with women who may be wondering: why don't I feel like myself anymore?
I help them make sense of what's changing and find realistic, sustainable ways to support their energy, sleep, resilience, and sense of self.
My approach
I'm curious by nature, and I've never been drawn to one-size-fits-all answers. My training spans health and wellness coaching, women's health, menopause, childbirth education, birth support, pelvic health education, yoga, and brain health. But credentials are only part of the story; years spent beside women through some of the most vulnerable, exhausting, joyful, and transformative moments of their lives have taught me to listen carefully.
I coach from a non-diagnostic, trauma-aware, evidence-informed perspective. I'm not your doctor, therapist, or pelvic-floor physical therapist, and I won't pretend to be. Sometimes what you need most is simply someone to help you slow down, make sense of what's happening, and figure out what comes next.
You don't need to become an expert in your hormones or your nervous system. Understanding your body can change your relationship with it.

A little more about me
Im originally from South Africa and have called New York City home for many years.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me somewhere in nature: hiking, practicing yoga, swimming in a lake or ocean (especially when the water is ridiculously cold), or spending time with my family. And I have a particular soft spot for my cat.
I don't believe life is about optimizing every minute or doing everything perfectly. It's about paying attention to what matters, staying curious, and leaving enough room to actually experience the life we're working so hard to support. That's what I want for the women I work with too: not to become a better version of someone else's idea of healthy, but to feel more connected to themselves, more confident in their bodies, and more at home in their lives.
