2nd Stage Labor

and Your Pelvic Floor

Pregnant mothers are often under prepared for the pushing part of labor, which may contribute to many hours of ineffective pushing, long term damage or pelvic floor weakness, preventable tearing, medical interventions or even a cesarean birth.

This is due in part to a lack of understanding of and limited preparation for optimal pushing. I created my workshop, Pushing Power to educate and empower women about their own bodies, especially for the pushing part of labor!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Chantal’s Webinars! She does such an amazing job explaining all the ways to prepare the pelvic floor for birth, the best positions for each stage of labor, and how to push in a way that protects your perineum. I highly recommend this class for all expectant mamas and birth professionals! You will learn such powerful and important information, and how to work with your body for the best possible birth. I’m pregnant with my first and I feel so empowered with the knowledge I gained from her class!!

Chantal’s knowledge, experience, and ability to communicate the different circumstances of labor and the pushing phase offer depth, multi-dimensional perspectives and many useful tips. As a prenatal yoga therapist for almost 20 years, the knowledge helped to enhance what I have to offer my prenatal yoga students and help them prepare better for the actual pushing stage of labor. Chantal is an expert in optimizing the possibility of full preservation of the pelvic floor and for educating us birth supporters. The information I learned has already grown the communication skills around use of the breath, and prompted further discussion ahead of time with expecting mothers about fears and tensions which allows for laying groundwork ahead of time to go over positions for the pushing phase. I highly recommend this class for expecting mothers, prenatal movement therapists and birth supporters.
