Chantal has been teaching and assisting expecting families in the New York Metro area since 2003. She is a Certified Doula (A.L.A.C.E), Certified Childbirth Educator (CEA/MNY, LAMAZE), Certified Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher, Certified MUTU® Systems trainer and specializes in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year.

Chantal provides a comfortable and supportive environment for a positive birth experience. She incorporates her prenatal yoga and massage skills. Experienced with VBAC and twin births and Gentle Cesareans. She also offers Private Childbirth Preparation classes, Newborn Basics and her Pushing Power™ workshops.

Postpartum Core Restoration

Has your pelvic floor and core never fully healed since you've had your baby? Do you leak a little every time you sneeze or jump? Do you just want to fit into some of your pre-pregnancy clothes? Or feel good in your post baby body?

One of the many reasons why women feel some or all of the above is due to a diastasis recti or a dysfunctional pelvic floor. This can become very distressing. You dont have to live like this, it's never too late to heal and restore postpartum!

I often see another common challenge. Some menopausal women are still suffering years later from untreated pelvic floor issues. We go through a lot of change during peri-menopause and that’s when the events of the past catch up with us. I offer a personalized program to help you strengthen and recover no matter how many years postpartum you are.

The MUTU® system helps restore the body back to functionality and strength. This structured program incorporates breath, movement, mobility and exercise to heal your mummy tummy and Diastasis Recti. Each program incorporates safe and effective ways to strengthen your core and pelvic floor correctly.

I specialize in postnatal restorative core and pelvic floor exercise and I will guide you through movements and exercises that are essential for core health. I will teach you about posture and alignment, create your own personal exercise program, keep you motivated and help you identify what may be making your core weaker.

Together with my classes, it may be helpful for you to have your own copy of the MUTU® System so that you can continue your recovery at home in between sessions.

As a certified Kangaroula™, Chantal strives to improve the birth experience for both mother and baby.

Keep the baby in the sanctuary of Mother’s chest, heart and hormones. Baby’s presence is the reason for mother’s metabolic, hormonal and physiologic changes. Skin-to-skin not only rewires baby’s brain but also rewires mother’s brain.

In skin-to-skin contact, the mother’s body helps the baby to regulate physically but also emotionally. Social intelligence begins in this first hour.

The baby’s brain is expecting familiar sensations of mum’s heartbeat and voice, her smell, and touch. The baby is in the right place to smell and taste breastmilk and start breastfeeding. The baby collects sensations buffered by mothers presence and can sleep peacefully which is when the brain-wiring is taking place.

With her wealth of birth experiences and training, Chantal offers a wise, understanding ear to women who may have experienced a physically traumatic or emotionally disappointing birth. She will offer consult to help you process and reframe your birth experience. She understands that if you felt disempowered with your birth experience you may need a lot of healing postpartum. She will help you reclaim your power!

Over the past 15 years, Chantal has attended over 680 births providing education and counsel to hundreds of expecting families in the New York Metropolitan area.
